Meet the Latest Invention in Drone Technology: The Hoverbike.

The Hoverbike is a half drone and half motorcycle that aims to make flying as simple as riding a motorbike. Recently, Hoversurf, a Russian drone startup, launched its Scorpion-3 hoverbike in a test flight video. This has become the first manned quodcopter that has undergone successful testing according to Futurism, a technology news website.

According to the website, the machine can be flown by both professionals and amateurs as it has both manual and automatic capabilities. This ability is courtesy of the software that is available in the hoversurf.

"The Scorpion platform is the next step in accessible amateur flying developed to inspire athletes, engineers, scientists and inventors around the world," Hoversurf officials said on its website.

It will be equipped with a safety system powered by state of the art flight controllers, unique logical programming and passive elements with computer aided speed and altitude limiting."

Just like the recently announced Dubai passenger drones, hoversurf could provide a new means of transport, although the company says they developed it with extreme sports in mind.

Aerofex, a California-based aerospace entity, is in the process of developing a passenger drone known as the Aero-X. The company describes it as a 'hovercraft that drives like a motorcycle' and can fly at 45mph(72km/hr) and can go up to 10 feet(3 meters), off the ground
