In a statement, Ryan announced that he was committed to working with the U.S. President Donald Trump administration in order to bring its vision of border security to fruition.

Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan (R, Wisconsin) reaffirmed a strict stance on border security.

Ryan toured the border between the United States of America and the United Mexican Stateson Wednesday. According to Ryan, it was his first time ever visiting the border. Ryan rode on horseback, took an aerial tour, and traveled by boat through the Rio Grande area. Assisted by U.S. border patrol agents, Ryan was accompanied by Michael McCaul (R, Texas), the House Homeland Security Committee Chairman, Representative John Carter (R, Texas), who is the chairman of an appropriations committee that oversees homeland security, Representative Martha McSally (R, Arizona), Senator Thom Tillis (R, North Carolina) and Senator John Cornyn (R, Texas).

In a statement, Ryan announced that he was committed to working with the U.S. President Donald Trump administration in order to bring its vision of border security to fruition. The statement from Ryan came only one day after the Trump administration released a specific policy guidance via the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

"When you see with your own eyes the many challenges facing our law enforcement professionals along the border, it gives you even greater respect for the work that they do day-in and day-out," said Ryan. "But more tools and more support are needed for them to do their jobs effectively. Congress is committed to securing the border and enforcing our laws, and together with the Trump administration, we will get this done."
